My Favorite things | August 2025

With the start of a new month, I thought it would be fun to switch things up and share a little roundup of my favorite things from August. Some beauty, some house-related, and some just totally random (because that’s just how my brain works). If you know me, you know I’m not passionate about everything—but when I am passionate, I will absolutely die on the hill for it and convince you to try it too. Consider this my personal stamp of approval list.

Front door rug - I never thought I’d get this excited over a front door rug, but here we are. Our front doors are extra wide and take up a lot of space, so my old rug looked teeny tiny and just… sad. I finally found one that’s the perfect size and has that cozy, “fall is coming” vibe. It instantly makes our entryway feel more welcoming, and every time I walk up to the house it just gives me all the seasonal feels. It’s the little things, right?

Cookies N' Cream Protein Bar - This deserves its own standing ovation. Dramatic? Maybe. Accurate? Absolutely. If you’re an Oreo girl like me, this bar is literally everything you’ve been searching for in life. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and crunchy without tasting “too healthy.” I love that I can grab one when I’m running out the door or keep one in my bag for when the hangry hits. Honestly, I eat them for breakfast more often than I should admit—but they fill me up and keep me from reaching for not-so-great snacks throughout the day. Texture: 10/10. Taste: 10/10. Convenience: 11/10. Hands down my favorite bar 1st Phorm has ever launched.

RFA Hydralipid Moisturizer - Ok, this isn’t just an August fave. This is a life fave. If you’ve ever dealt with dry skin, you know the struggle of trying product after product that just… doesn’t work. My skin can get painfully dry (think Sahara Desert level), and this is the only thing that has consistently saved me. Especially now that the Midwest air is starting to shift and get drier, this moisturizer is my skin’s safety net. It’s rich without feeling heavy, and I wake up with my face actually feeling hydrated.

Honestly, I have to give their whole line a shoutout. Ever since I started investing in higher-potency skincare in my late twenties, my skin has completely transformed. It’s brighter, smoother, and just overall healthier. I wish I would’ve made the switch sooner instead of wasting money on products that looked cute on the shelf but did nothing for my skin. If you’ve been thinking about taking your skincare routine up a notch—this is your sign.

L'Oreal Faux Brown Pen - Eyebrows are one of those things that can make or break your face, and trust me—I know the insecurity that comes with barely-there brows. I got micro-blading done last year, which was a game-changer, but because I started with such sparse brows, I still need a little extra help. This pen is my holy grail. It creates the most natural, hair-like strokes that actually last all day. No smudging, no fading, no “oh no, where did half my eyebrow go?” panic. I use the shade Dark Brunette and it’s perfection. If you’ve ever struggled with brows, I promise you this pen will change your life.

Gel-X Nails - And finally, my most random but most fun August favorite—Gel-X nails! If you’ve been scrolling TikTok, you’ve probably seen people raving about them, and let me just say… they’re not lying. I tried doing my own set for the first time this month, and I am HOOKED. It’s equal parts money-saving hack and creative outlet. My first set took me a little over an hour, and while they weren’t perfect, I was honestly so proud of myself. Plus, if I keep up with it, it’ll basically pay for itself after two salon trips. (*Throws imaginary bills in the air while telling my husband “see, I’m saving us money!”*).

So that’s my little August favorites roundup! I love doing posts like this because it feels like I’m just sitting down and chatting with a friend—sharing the things that made life easier, more fun, or just a little more “me” this past month. If you’ve tried any of these, or if you have your own August favorites I should check out, drop them in the comments. Here’s to September bringing even more things worth obsessing over.
