Monthly Favorites | September & October 2025

Ope, and just like that, an entire 2 months have gone by and I totally forgot to post my September favorites blog post! So this one is combined of all my favs from September and October! : )

Projector

Not to toot my own horn, but this was a huge hit. I originally got this projector for my mom’s surprise birthday party in the spring, but recently decided to pull it back out and test it as a mini movie theater in Reese’s room. She’s finally at the age where we can actually sit and enjoy movies together — popcorn, blankets, the whole thing — and it worked perfectly!

Reese was absolutely giddy about the setup (honestly, so was I). There’s just something so special about turning an ordinary night into an experience. The lights dimmed, the movie on the wall, her little squeals during her favorite parts… it made me realize how much fun it is to create simple moments like this at home.

What I love most is how easy it was — no cords everywhere, no complicated setup — just plug it in, grab snacks, and boom: instant magic. I also just bought an extra cord so I can use my phone instead of my laptop. I'll report back to see how that goes! It’s such a fun little twist on family movie night and something we’ll use again and again.

If you didn’t know, the 90s are back, baby! Really, anything “vintage” is having a comeback (and if you were born before the 90s… please don’t come after me 😂). But fun fact — ruffle socks actually go way back to the 1940s and ’50s, when the classic “bobby sock” ankle style often had a lace or frilly cuff. So technically, we’re just bringing back a timeless moment with a modern twist.

I absolutely love this trend. There’s something about those little ruffles peeking out from sneakers or boots that instantly adds personality. It’s playful, a little nostalgic, but still polished when styled right. Whether you pair them with a dress or cropped jeans, it’s such an easy way to elevate your outfit without trying too hard.

Speaking of trends… I’m sure you’ve seen the platform “Ugg” style boots making their rounds lately. Also an ode to the 90s and early 2000s, these chunky, bold soles are totally back — and you either love them or hate them (my husband hates them). Me? I tried to resist… but I couldn’t do it. For a short gal like me, I don’t mind the extra inches one bit 😂

I’ll admit, they surprised me. They give that effortless “put together but chill” vibe — kind of like you actually planned your outfit when you really just threw it on. And just like the chunky sneakers you’re seeing everywhere, they add balance and structure to any look without trying too hard.

It's also interesting to think about trends (a lot of my job has to do with looking out for these things) and platforms have had revivals during times of change or desire for “lift” metaphorically in society. Some fashion historians connect platforms "rebirth" to needing something bold or elevated after more muted seasons - AKA the boring 2010's haha. Either way, I enjoy the "lift" it gives me. 🤓
